Instructions
Boil the milk with the split vanilla pod.
While the milk is heating, whisk the yolks and sugar until light.
Add the milk slowly, whisking in.
Return the mixture to the pan and cook over a low heat until the sauce coats the back of a spoon.
Pass through a fine strainer and cool.
