- 1 Cutting Board
- 1 Cooks Knife
- 1 Heavy Pot with a lid
- 1 Wooden Spoon
Ingredients
- 1 each Red Cabbage finely shredded
- 1 each Apple, Granny Smith or cooking variety cut into small slices.
- 2 Tbsp. Olive Oil.
- 1 Red Onion finely sliced.
- 1 Clove Garlic finely sliced
- 2 Tbsp. Brown Sugar
- 3 Tbsp. Cider Vinegar
- 1 each Bay Leaf
- ½ each Cinnamon Stick small
- 3 each Cloves whole
- Salt and Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat a heavy pot and add the olive oil.
- Add the onion and garlic.
- Sauté until the onion is translucent and add the cabbage and apple.
- Cook for 2 minutes and add the brown sugar.
- Mix in and add the bay leaf, cinnamon and cloves.
- Season with salt and pepper, cover and cook on a low temperature for 30 minutes.
- Taste and adjust seasoning, adding more salt and pepper, brown sugar, or vinegar, as preferred.
