
Island Spice Butter

- 1 Cutting Board and Cooks Knife
- 1 Mixing Bowl
Ingredients
- 1 Lb Butter softened
- 1 Tbsp. Horseradish pureed
- ½ Tsp. Marjoram, dried
- ½ Tsp. Basil, dried
- ½ Tsp. Thyme, dried
- ½ Tsp. Tarragon
- ¼ Cup Parsley finely chopped
- 1 each Garlic Cloves finely chopped
- 1 each Shallot finely chopped
- 1 Tsp. Salt
- ½ Tsp. Dry Mustard Powder
- ½ Tsp. Black Pepper
- 2 Tsp. Lime or Lemon Juice
- 2 Tsp. Worcestershire Sauce
- 3 Tbsp. Soy Sauce
- 1 Pinch Cayenne Pepper
- ½ Tbsp. Paprika
Instructions
- Place the butter in a mixing bowl and incorporated the remaining ingredients, mixing until well incorporated.
- Form into 1” rolls in plastic or parchment paper, and then wrap in aluminium foil and twist the ends to form uniform cylinders.
- Place in the refrigerator to set.
- Slice as needed and place on cooked barbecue and grill items to season.
- Rolls may be kept in the freezer for longer term storage.
Notes
You will find this butter very useful to have on hand for all kinds of dishes.
Use: Excellent melted over steaks, seafood, poultry, or vegetables.
Variation: Add a little chopped chili or jerk spice for extra island heat.
Storage: Keeps 1 week refrigerated or 3 months frozen.
